New York China Cabinet

This china cabinet has been reproduced from an original desk-and-bookcase that was made in New York, circa 1796. It is displayed in the Lake Erie Hall at the Winterthur Museum. Made from crotch and figured Mahogany veneers and Satinwood and Walnut inlay, this elegant cabinet features four doors and three drawers for ample storage. The top cabinet has four glass doors with Federal tracery that is also veneered. The adjustable glass shelves are framed in Mahogany. The pediment (height 7 inches), adorned with brass ball finials typical of the Federal period, is optional.
