Philadelphia Writing Desk
(83-840)
This desk is adapted from the original sewing table, made in Philadelphia circa 1805 and displayed in the Blue Room. The kidney-shaped top features elaborate Satinwood with contrasting Mahogany. The desk also features Walnut and Santos Rosewood veneers. The center section comes standard with a leather surface for writing. There is a center drawer which conforms to the aprons that are surrounded by a geometric inlay. The elegant legs are reeded, turned, and hand carved at the top.
