Aitken Sideboard
(86-023)
George Washington purchased a pair of this original sideboard from cabinetmaker John Aitken, in 1797. They are in the large dining room at Mount Vernon. Kindel's reproduction captures the understated elegance of the Hepplewhite style original. Crafted of Mahogany solids and veneers, this masterpiece sideboard features subtle, yet elaborate, inlay work on the front of the doors and drawers and at the top of each leg.
