Philadelphia Marlboro Sofa
(8398)
The original of this sofa, displayed in the Marlboro Room of the Winterthur Museum, was made in Philadelphia circa 1790. The dramatic curve of the top line along with the high scroll arms and serpentine front combine to make this sofa an American masterpiece. The solid Mahogany tapered front legs are joined by stretchers to the rear legs that rake backward sharply and add to the strength of the design. Nail head trim is standard on the scroll arms and the base. Standard with two throw pillows (not shown). Also available in a love seat version 8396, 74 inches wide.
COM required: 17 yards plain fabric.
As Shown: Finished in Winterthur, High (27) and Fabric R120-42
